Critics have applauded the movie, pointing out that at age 84, legendary director Jerzy Skolimowski has directed one of his most visually inventive films, following the travels of a donkey named EO. The director himself called it his 'song of love for animals and nature'.
The final nominations for the 95th Oscars will be announced on January 24, and the awards ceremony is due to be held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on March 12.
