Russian military death toll in Ukraine rises to 276,990: report

Ukrainian forces have eliminated 276,990 Russian soldiers since Vladimir Putin launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, according to military officials in Kyiv.

The latest estimate of Russian losses was published by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Wednesday morning.

Ukrainian forces have so far eliminated 276,990 soldiers of Russia’s invading army, including 320 Russian troops over the past day, the military command in Kyiv reported on Facebook.

Russia has now also lost 4,675 tanks, of which 3 in the last 24 hours, 8,950 armoured combat vehicles (including four in the past day) and 6,337 artillery systems (of which 38 in the last 24 hours),  Ukrainian state news agency Ukrinform reported. 

Moreover, Ukrainian forces have destroyed 792 Russian multiple launch rocket systems, 4,948 unmanned aerial vehicles (including 24 in the past day) and 1,529 cruise missiles, among other military equipment, Ukraine’s General Staff said.   

Wednesday is day 581 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, launching the largest military campaign in Europe since World War II.
