The attacks struck multiple towns, with the most severe damage occurring in Kostyantynivka and near Toretsk.
In Kostyantynivka, three people were killed and four others wounded. Donetsk regional governor Vadym Filashkin confirmed that the victims were men aged between 24 and 69.
The shelling also damaged a multi-storey residential block, an administrative building and a shop. Filashkin provided updates on the incident through his Telegram channel.
Meanwhile, two men in their 50s were killed by shelling near Toretsk, approximately 20 km southeast of Kostyantynivka, as confirmed by local prosecutor’s office spokesperson Anastasia Medvedeva.
Kostyantynivka, a former industrial city with a pre-war population of around 70,000, has been a frequent target of Russian attacks since the large-scale invasion began on February 24, 2022.
In August, Ukrainian authorities ordered the evacuation of families with children from the city due to the escalating threat posed by advancing Russian forces.
