The decision, supported by five members of the commission and opposed by four, could result in the party losing its three-year government subsidy of over 75 million PLN (17,386,500 EUR).
This follows an earlier rejection of the PiS election committee's financial report, with the consequences including the loss of the subsidy.
There has also been a dispute within the PKW regarding the handling of the Supreme Court's Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs Chamber, which is set to review PiS's appeal, but has been declared illegal by European courts.
The PKW has stated it will not recognize any decisions made by this chamber if it includes judges appointed after 2017.
Rafał Bochenek, spokesperson for the Law and Justice Party, criticized the PKW's decision, accusing the ruling coalition of using illegal, administrative actions to eliminate the only real opposition in Poland, knowing they cannot win fairly in a democracy.
"There's no tolerance for theft," commented Dariusz Joński, a Member of the European Parliament from the ruling Civic Coalition (KO), through social media.
