The Estonian official discussed the matter with the head of Polish diplomacy, Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk, in Tallinn on Friday.
Tsahkna, quoted by the Estonian public broadcaster ERR website, expressed his appreciation for Poland's unwavering support for Kyiv. He said, however, that as the Polish border crossings are used to provide necessary humanitarian and defense aid for Ukraine, and to transport much needed goods for the Ukrainian population - finding a quick solution to the border problem is vital. Therefore, he declared that Estonia is prepared to help.
The Estonian politician said that yesterday's talks between FMs also concerned the issue of adopting additional sanctions against Russia - and discussion on Ukraine's progress on the road to joining the European Union. The head of Estonian diplomacy also thanked our country for supporting Estonia in taking over the presidency of the OSCE next year and for boycotting the meeting of this organization in North Macedonia, where Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov was invited.
Last week, Minister Szynkowski vel Sęk held a number of talks in European capitals, regarding the proposed treaty changes in the European Union, which assume, among other things, strengthening the role of EU institutions and abolishing the right of veto in foreign policy and tax matters.
