The re-election of Donald Trump as US president is also expected to be among the topics of the gathering.

Polish foreign ministry spokesman Paweł Wroński said on Monday that the Polish, German, French and Italian foreign ministers would take part in the meeting in person, while their Spanish and British counterparts would attend remotely.

Poland's top diplomat Radosław Sikorski on Monday attended a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels to discuss issues including Russia's 1,000-day-long war against Ukraine.

Russia invaded Ukraine by land, air and sea on February 24, 2022, starting the largest armed conflict in Europe since World War II.

Tuesday marks the 1,000th day of Russia's war on Ukraine.

Poland, France and Germany work together as part of a trilateral cooperation platform known as the Weimar Triangle.
