Poland's Natalia Kaczmarek won the gold and set a national record of 48.98 seconds in the women's 400m, while Olympic champion Wojciech Nowicki earned another gold for Poland in the men's hammer throw.
Polish sprinter Ewa Swoboda took the silver in the women's 100 metres, while countrywoman Anita Włodarczyk claimed the silver in the women’s hammer throw.
The two bronze medals for Poland in the Italian capital came from Pia Skrzyszowska, who finished third in the women's 100 metres hurdles, and Michał Haratyk, who came in third in the men's shot put.
A team of 94 athletes represented Poland at the 2024 European Athletics Championships, which were held in Rome from June 7 to 12.
Host nation Italy finished top of the Rome 2024 European Championships standings, with a total of 24 medals, including 11 golds, while France finished second in the medals table, with four gold medals and 16 podium finishes. Team Poland ranked ninth in the final standings.
Poland won 14 medals, three gold, six silver and five bronze, at the 2022 European Athletics Championships in Munich.
