Questions about the president’s injury circulated after he was seen on Independence Day without a bandage on his right hand, with a noticeable portion of his middle finger appearing to be missing.
Presidential aide Wojciech Kolarski said the injury occurred during routine household chores, describing it as “a fairly serious cut” that required a minor surgical procedure.
Kolarski assured the public on broadcaster RMF FM that “the president is perfectly fine now.”
The incident, which took place several weeks ago, was handled quickly and has not affected Duda’s duties, according to his office.
While Kolarski downplayed the injury, saying that "it’s something that could happen to anyone," the visible change has sparked public curiosity about the unexpected mishap in the Polish leader’s life.
